Important Safety Information

Compounded GLP-1 Weight-Loss Injection is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (Compounded GLP-1) receptor agonist used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity to help manage chronic weight in adults with a body mass index (BMI) of:

  • 27 kg/m² or higher (overweight or obesity)

Limitations of Use:

  • It is not recommended to take Compounded GLP-1 with other Compounded GLP-1 receptor agonists or weight management products.
  • The safety and effectiveness of using it with other weight loss products are not established.
  • It has not been studied in people with a history of pancreatitis.

Important Safety Information

WARNING: RISK OF THYROID C-CELL TUMORS
In animal studies, Compounded GLP-1  has caused thyroid C-cell tumors. It is not known if this risk applies to humans. Compounded GLP-1 should not be used by people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Talk to your doctor about the risk of thyroid tumors and signs to watch for.

Do not take Compounded GLP-1 Weight-Loss Injection if you:

  • Have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or MEN 2.
  • Have been diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
  • Have or have had pancreatitis.
  • Have severe stomach problems, such as gastroparesis (delayed stomach emptying).
  • Are allergic to Compounded GLP-1 or any ingredients in Compounded GLP-1.
  • Have a history of suicide attempts or suicidal thoughts.

Warnings and Precautions

  • Pancreatitis: If you develop symptoms of pancreatitis, stop taking Compounded GLP-1 and contact your doctor. Do not restart the treatment if pancreatitis is confirmed.

  • Gallbladder Disease: There is a risk of gallbladder issues. Your doctor may recommend tests if gallbladder disease is suspected.

  • Gastroparesis: Some people may experience severe digestive issues. Consult your doctor if you experience this.

  • Hypoglycemia: If you are using insulin or insulin secretagogues, there may be an increased risk of low blood sugar. Your doctor may need to adjust your insulin dose.

  • Kidney Injury: Kidney issues have occurred in some patients. Monitor kidney function, especially if you have severe digestive side effects.

  • Allergic Reactions: Seek medical help immediately if you experience symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as swelling or difficulty breathing.

  • Pregnancy: Compounded GLP-1 may harm an unborn baby. Stop treatment as soon as pregnancy is recognized and at least two months before planning a pregnancy.

  • Eye Problems in Diabetics: Complications related to diabetic retinopathy have been reported. Monitor eye health closely if you have a history of this condition.

  • Heart Rate: Regularly check your heart rate, as it may increase.

  • Suicidal Thoughts: Monitor for signs of depression or suicidal thoughts. Stop the medication if these symptoms occur.

Note on Eye Disease: Some studies suggest a possible link between Compounded GLP-1 and non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), a serious eye disease. However, more research is needed to confirm this.


Common Side Effects

The most common side effects in adults and children 12 years or older include:

  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation
  • Abdominal pain, fatigue, headache, dizziness
  • Indigestion, bloating, belching, gas
  • Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) in people with type 2 diabetes
  • Gastroesophageal reflux, nasopharyngitis (common cold)

Drug Interactions

Compounded GLP-1 can slow down stomach emptying, which may affect how other oral medications are absorbed. Use with caution if taking other medicines.


Use in Specific Populations

  • Pregnancy: May cause harm to the unborn baby. Stop using it as soon as pregnancy is recognized.
